I am being sued by a company located in Texas. I was served last Thursday with the complaint. It is revolving around a customer list that I developed over a 15 year period and this company purchased it, from another company, suposedly "exclusive." They are saying I slandered, libeled and have caused tortuous interferance with their potential customers because I client called me and asked me questiions after being suspicious with them being in her home and trying to get her to move all of her retirement accounts to another company. This company has potential roots to some of the large "trust mill" scams of yesteryear. I would prefer someone who can do the paperwork to respond while I initially act in Prop Per so I can gain this so called "exclusivity list, " that they have. I cannot pay alot, but they have tons of money! They are suing me in 3 states and attempting to prevail in one, so that I would be prohibited from contacting my clients.
