Job Description:
The Information Technology Department manages the technology and computer infrastructure that drives the organizations business systems. The position of Programmer/Systems Analyst is responsible for defining requirements and functional specifications, reviewing, analyzing and modifying systems including coding, testing, debugging and installing to support web-based and desktop applications.This position interacts with end users and key management personnel throughout the life cycle of the software by determining requirements. Upon determination of requirements, the Programmer/Analyst then designs, implements, tests and maintains systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Designs, codes, tests, troubleshoots and documents software applications.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our products and service lines.
Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of our systems.
Assist in troubleshooting software application issues.
Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications, and provide first level system documentation on completed tasks.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge to ensure cutting edge technological leadership among the team by staying abreast of current tools, methodologies, technologies and language features.Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
2+ years of programming experience with a high-level language and a strong understanding of object oriented analysis, design and implementation.
Experience in relational database analysis, design and implementation.
Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) with experience using stored procedures, functions, triggers and views.
Programming experience on a Windows platform.
Working knowledge of Windows Server environment.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple task assignments and prioritize work appropriately.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Solid analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure, challenging, service driven atmosphere.
A results oriented individual who thrives on working in a fast paced, change oriented environment.Preferred, Not Required:
1+ year(s) programming in the .NET Framework (specifically VB.NET, C#, ADO.NET).
Experience in web-based design/development using ASP.NET, AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Knowledge of SQL Server 2005.
Knowledge of MS Visual Studio 2005 and/or 2008.
Knowledge of MS Visual SourceSafe or SVN.
Knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS).
Knowledge of MS Office Productivity Software.
Experience with Linux variations.
Knowledge of transportation industry (specifically Risk Management and Compliance regulated by the FMCSA).This is a contract position and is located in Lufkin, TX, must be willing to relocate!!- no working remotely
