Short Description:
 

 
Under minimal guidance, package/customize, deploy/deliver, and troubleshoot moderately complex software components, tools, and utilities required for the operation, maintenance, and control of systems. Requires Microsoft SMS experience.
 

 
Complete Description:
 

 
1. Executes all aspects of moderately complex systems software admin/engineering projects, which involve multiple disciplines and platforms and impact multiple business units or perhaps the entire company.
 

 
2. Executes problem mitigation, change management, and critical situation management to moderately complex systems as well as their multiple platforms and software applications.
 

 
3. Performs in the configuration/capacity planning, software product evaluation, systems performance analysis and optimizations for software systems.
 

 
4. Provides consultation and technical solutions to management on moderately complex systems integration, compatibility, expandability, ease of use, and multiple platform issues as they relate to software.
 

 
5. Conducts moderately complex software product evaluations; develops and recommends technical solutions to management. Conducts assessments of risk, cost, and return on investment scenarios and impact as well as potential compatibility issues with existing software.
 

 
6. Installs moderately complex software products by analyzing the current system environment, using technical tools and utilities, performing product customization, and developing implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful installation of systems software.
 

 
7. Develops, tests, selects and implements new technical solutions, products and servers as they relate to software operating systems and applications.
 

 
8. Assists in short-term strategic planning activities for the development and implementation of software systems architecture and technical guidelines.
 

 
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 

 
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred. Certification designation in Microsoft certification family is preferred.
 

 
Experience: Three years of technical software trouble resolution experience
 

 
Candidate must have the following skills:
 

 
- Systems administration experience in Windows O/S (3-5yrs)
 

 
- A minimum of 3 yrs experience with SMS software packaging & deployment or other software distribution tools
 

 
- The ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation, configuration, and operational issues, using desktop tools available with the operating systems, is essential.
 

 
- Experience with VB scripting is a plus
 

 
- Experience with Powershell Scripting and Windows 7 is a plus.
