Development Director (Heart Walk)-American Heart Association

We have an excellent opportunity for a Development Director in our Greater Phoenix Division.

Director will be part of a staff and volunteer team responsible for the Heart Walk, a major fundraising event that promotes physical activity and has a fundraising goal of $830,000 net. Additional responsibilities: identify, cultivate and recruit leadership volunteers to assist with sponsorships and company teams; promote corporate and community walker participation; and event planning.

Qualified candidates need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years successful fundraising, outside sales or marketing experience
• Strong volunteer recruitment, training and management
• Effective organizational, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
• Self starter leader able to work well in a team driven environment
• Thrive in a culture of accountability
• Willing and able to travel within local area and to work evenings and weekends on occasion
