DIRECTOR OF CLIENT ACCOUNTING (NW Tucson)

  • PRINCIPAL DUTIES: The Director of Client Accounting is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures while analyzing financial information in order to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements for our clients. The successful candidate will also ensure that appropriate internal and external accounting control procedures are being used. This position is the point of contact for all managers, accounting staff and community association board members regarding accounting-related policies, procedures, and problem solving.

    LEVEL OF AUTHORITY: Oversees accounting staff

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Review all vendor information, including 1099 data
    • Calculate and prepare invoices for developer shortfall funding
    • Review and process vendor invoices
    • Budget training and tracking
    • Post interest earnings and reconcile association numerous bank accounts each month
    • Initiate bank transfers and wires
    • Review and prepare multiple financial statements
    • Assist managers with financial reports and budgets
    • Oversee and supervise accounting staff
    • Develop and maintain company accounting policies and procedures
    • Perform any other duties that the senior staff deems necessary to assure the quality and standards of the client’s accounting needs

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Strong ability to motivate others
    • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Able to maintain a positive, cordial, businesslike relationship with all homeowners, board members, employees and vendors
    • Able to perform basic administrative tasks for a community association
    • Able to assist in resolving board or homeowner concerns
    • Strong computer software skills, including Microsoft Office
    • Minimum four-year business degree (B.S.) with major in accounting required
    • Previous homeowner association experience is a plus
