Event Manager
A rapidly growing startup conglomerate that has experienced explosive growth unprecedented in the current economic environment seeks applications for the position of Events Manager.
We have grown by an average of over 200% each month in 2010 and over 300% in the last 2 years. Our exponential growth has been supported in part by opting for cloud based architecture for IT infrastructure and applications to keep up with the growth.

We’re looking for an experienced Events Manager with the following roles and responsibilities:
Schedules, develops and coordinates public events, special seminars, either via teleconferencing/web conferencing or in-person appearances, for a dynamic, emerging world leader. The Event Manager is capable of organizing retreat seminars and hosting special events in major cities. This person takes complete ownership, in a fast moving environment, for all logistical action items to ensure the success of the Foundation’s public events.
This person is also able to act as Spokesperson at these events offering a warm, conversational, intelligent and insightful presence. This person is an experienced, take charge professional with ability to manage administration and logistics in support of a diverse agenda for a Non-Profit Foundation in a busy special events environment.
Develop, host and manage coordination of up to 40 events per year.
Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work evenings and weekends. If necessary, must be able to travel.
The Event Manager should have a love for special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers and VIPS. The ideal candidate is also comfortable in front of audiences acting as the company’s spokesperson, facilitating events and introducing our dynamic Founder.
Event Planning and Production
• Assist with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, make travel arrangements, order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor and branding to meet the quality expectations of the Foundation.
• Able to host telephone seminars and video seminars and introduce the organization’s Founder.
• Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event productions.
• Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities.
• Organize volunteers, prepare support materials and work with the team to plan successful events.
• Create and revised room layouts for each event.
• Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
• Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
• Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events as necessary.
• Prepare nametags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
• Close out all events as required.
Event Administration:
• Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to staff directors for each event project.
• Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting.
• Coordinate appointments and visits to see our space, and scheduling of events on the calendar.
• Prepare and modify event contracts as requested
Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
• Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
• Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
• At least 3 years experience with office administrative management.
• At least 1 year experience coordinating special events.
• Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.To apply, click here to apply through our recruitment portal
