Position Summary
The Executive Director’s role is to provide leadership to achieve Sirrine Adult Day Health Services, Inc. (Sirrine) organization’s mission, strategies, goals and financial objectives. The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of administration, supervision, finance, programming, marketing, outreach, and long-term growth. This exempt position reports to the Sirrine Board of Directors.Duties and Responsibilities
Administration and Operations Management:
Administer the daily program for participants, providing direction, care, programming, and continuous supervision of clients.
Responsible for client recruitment, intake and discharge.
Analyze client needs to determine appropriate program events, services and activities.
Develop schedules, menus, and programs; plan events and organize transportation.
Monitor client progress.
Maintain official records and documents to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Manage facilities and negotiate contracts.Human Resource Management:
Recruit, select, hire, coach and evaluate staff.
Ensure that all policies and proceduress are current.
Implement sound human resource practices.
Manage staff attendance and maintain compliance records.
Foster a work environment that attracts, inspires, motivates and retains staff and volunteers.
Participate in staff and volunteer development and education.Fiscal Management:
In conjunction with the Finance committee, develop fiscal plan and operating budget.
Manage client accounts and collections, create income from additional sources.
Authorize all expenditures.
Manage Sirrine resources and operate within budget guidelines.
Provide income and expense reports to Finance committee.Public Relations and Marketing:
Make effective use of communication media, including local channels and Internet social services, to enhance the presence and visibility of Sirrine in its service area.
Maintain positive relationships with funders, community leaders, city management, local political officials, civic groups, and philanthropic organizations to raise awareness and solicit support for Sirrine.Fund Raising:
Write grant requests to obtain additional program funding.
Organize fund raising and attain financial support from philanthropic sources.
Present the programs and point of view of the organization by demonstrating a strong, vital image to other organizations, agencies, corporations and the general public.Strategic Planning:
Work with the Board of Directors to create and implement a long term strategic plan, including reviews at regular intervals.
Monitor all aspects of Sirrine’s activities to evaluate potential changes to improve the organization and its performance.Board of Directors
Schedule monthly Board meetings, prepare meeting agenda.
Provide regular reviews of Sirrine’s progress and performance; advise Board of problems.
Assist the Board with plans for fund-raising including personal contribution.Position Requirements
Education and Experience
Graduate of a four-year degree program, Master’s degree preferred.
History of employment in related fields with record of increasing responsibility.Knowledge
Understanding of needs and physical abilities of the elderly and frail.
Understanding of federal, state and local political and regulatory environment.Skills
Leadership and management.
Effective interpersonal relations.
Financial management.
Marketing.
Proficient at information and related technologies.
Grant writing and fund raising.
