Executive Vice President-Business Development (Tucson)

  • Harper Jenkins Scobie, LLC, seeks a proactive Executive Vice President to run its Business Development division. Headquartered in Tucson, AZ, Harper Jenkins Scobie is a full service, start-up management services and business consulting firm, targeting as its clients small to mid size private companies having annual revenues ranging from $2M to $75M. The company envisions planned rapid growth by (a) listening to its clients and offering them a host of strategic and hands on consulting and managed client solutions each customized to their specific needs in the broad fields of financial management, human resources, information technology and business development- marketing and sales-designed to translate into increased cash flows, operating efficiencies and sustained profit improvement and by (b) assembling the most attractive workforce in the industry by offering them premium compensation packages.
     

     
    The individual I am seeking to help build and lead this division to national prominence must be functionally competent in all aspects of business development, be an inspiration leader by instinct, posse extraordinary “hunter with closing skills” and is not afraid to work hard, wear “many hats” and get their “hands dirty”.
     

     
    Responsibilities
     

     
    • Directly responsible for identifying and initiating business development efforts focused on developing and securing new business to achieve planned volume objectives.
     
    • Direct overall responsibility as functional consultant for all aspects of complex client engagements relating to all aspects of business development-sales and marketing-that identify, design and implement creative business development action plans.
     
    • Enthusiastically lead, recruit, teach, motivate, and develop corporate business development teams.
     
    • Financial preparation and management of division Budget.
     
    • Active Member-Harper Jenkins Scobie, LLC Board of Management.
     

     
    Requirements
     

     
    • Combined 20+ years extensive experience with Fortune 1000 or top 50 business consulting firms having direct proven “business-to-business” development experience and direct supervision of project managers on client engagements relating to all business development issues.
     
    • Demonstrated success in developing sales and marketing plans, and in identifying and developing high probability conversion target client lists.
     
    • Demonstrated success in marketing relating to: Preparation of strategic marketing plans, brand management, market segmentation, product launch planning and management, design planning, marketing communications management, on-line marketing/search engine marketing.
     
    • Demonstrated success in sales relating to: Preparation of strategic plans, analysis evaluation management, sales organization development, training and development programs, compensation design management and customer satisfaction management.
     
    • Demonstrated success in leading, supervising, managing, motivating and developing individuals and high performance sales and marketing teams.
     
    • Expert ability in writing reports, business correspondence, procedure & training manuals, recommendations and management incentive plans.
     
    • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments.
     
    • Ability to manage the financial aspects of the department (budget preparation and review, financial reporting and monitoring expenses).
     
    • Requires positive, competitive, confident personality with strongly developed persuasive skills and a client-focused orientation.
     
    • Knowledgeable of regulatory compliance laws and regulations related to the consulting industry.
     
    • Uncompromised integrity, loyalty and trust.
     
    • Must be detail oriented and willing to be hands-on with all levels of management, staff, project general managers, clients, consultants, attorneys, bankers and other external third parties.
     
    • Existing client base to call upon the first day a major plus.
