Kazal Fire Protection, Inc., is currently reviewing resumes/application for an Estimator to join our team. The following are requirements that an applicant must possess:
Four years related experience and/or training. Specific, detailed knowledge of fire sprinkler industry, codes and standards is essential. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building codes and standards, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as cost totals, discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The ability to apply concepts in basic algebra and geometry. Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Ability to determine the best system layout, hazard, and technology to comply with construction documents and generate a competitive estimate.
Current valid Arizona driver’s license is required. NICET Certification a plus.
Responsibilities to include:
• Reviews layout and takeoff data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.
• Compute cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
• Write and send estimates pre-approved by management to the appropriate clients.
• Follow-up on previously sent estimates and determine results, to develop rapport with clients.
• Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
• Works to continually update estimate procedures, resources, and software to maintain a competitive market presence.
• Maintain detailed estimate records and files.
• Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
