Fibromyalgia Network is a patient self-help organization in NE Tucson seeking a full-time writer for our quarterly print publication, monthly e-newsletter, and website article postings. Our focus is to provide fibromyalgia patients with useful articles on the latest research findings, treatment advice, and suggestions for coping.

Although this is a writing and editing position, a strong physiology background is more essential than journalism experience. This is an office job that requires collaboration with others.

Duties:
• Read and understand medical journal articles on pain, sleep and other physiological components common to fibromyalgia
• Engage with researchers regarding their published reports or treatment experts in order to translate findings and approaches into patient-friendly terms
• Write articles to help fibromyalgia patients better understand their symptoms and treatment options

Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of physiology and ability to understand a wide range of medical journal reports
• Ability to translate scientific information into terms a lay-audience can understand
• Excellent writing skills
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
• Marketing experience a strong plus
• Math skills also a plus
