HVAC Designer needed for valley wide company. Must have good skills in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD. Beneficial to have experience in HVAC industry, including heat load calculations. Experience with other mechanical trades such as plumbing and electrical also beneficial. Position reports to the Engineering Manager. 
 
We are a well established HVAC company with an emphasis on residential new home design, installation and warranty service. We are seeking an HVAC Designer to help us further expand our engineering department. As an HVAC Designer you will perform the following functions: 
 
You will be a liaison between sales and production. You will create HVAC designs and AutoCAD drawings of plans for builders working with our sales department. You will translate these plans into a discrete bill of materials for use by both our sales department for pricing and our purchasing, warehouse and installation teams for production. You will modify the bill of materials based upon feedback from field supervisors and ensure production systems and drawings are updated accordingly. You will help maintain lists of current builders, communities, plans, options, specifications, etc. To be successful as a HVAC Designer-Estimator you must possess the following skills and characteristics: 
 
• strong AutoCAD skills; 
• strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills; 
• highly organized; 
• good analytical and problem solving capabilities; 
• good communication and teamwork skills; and 
• solid work ethic.

EXPERIENCE: 
 
• AutoCAD experience required. 
• Must have experience working with experience with heat load & HVAC design software a plus. 
• Experience in the HVAC industry a significant plus; experience in other mechanical trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.) also a plus. 
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
 
• College courses (degree preferred) in engineering or CAD/design. 
• Must be able to read, write & speak English fluently; verbal Spanish fluency a plus. 
• Must be able to follow and enforce company policies. 
• Must be able to pass an immediate drug test.
