JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain inventory levels and computerized records of inventory with effective and efficient inventory control procedures

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Accurately maintains computer records of all goods received, shipments made, and goods produced on a daily basis. Gives inventory reports to VP of Operations.
2. Procures required materials from suppliers up to authorization limits when the established re-order point is reached.
3. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors.
4. Seeks alternate sourcing through new or alternate vendors when appropriate; maintains multiple vendors for items where applicable.
5. Studies product forecast reports to determine effective strategy in ordering required materials. Assist in forecasting product trends and planning.
6. Conducts frequent partial physical inventory audits to verify accuracy of computer records; conducts a complete physical inventory count quarterly.
7. Maintains a computerized inventory system under direction of the VP of Operations or Vice President.
8. Review incoming orders to evaluate inventory and shipping needs.
9. Direct inventory transfers between all company locations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
1. May operate a forklift truck when necessary.
2. May need to assist in manufacturing product or other duties as specified by supervisor.
3. Often involved in product costing

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma, equivalency certificate, or proof of sufficient reading, mathematics, and computer skills to fulfill essential functions.
2. Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures.
3. Proficiency in keyboarding and experience with computerized inventory systems.
4. Skill in organizing work efficiently and ability to work with minimum supervision.
5. Skill in communicating with warehouse workers, the purchasing department, and with outside vendors.
6. Previous certification as a forklift operator desirable but not required.
