We are an emerging lifestyle hotel brand with an extremely high-profile ownership group, occupying a highly unique niche in the hospitality marketplace. We currently operate business units in multiple states across the US and are poised to expand.
We seek a seasoned executive to serve as IT Director for our Southern Arizona location. The IT Director is responsible for the stable, reliable and predictable operation of the hotel’s entire IT infrastructure, which includes networks, voice and data communications, servers and data storage.
Reporting to the CFO, the IT Director will engage and delegate tasks, projects and assignments to the IT team. He or she will work in close partnership with management across all hotel departments to understand system needs and to leverage technology to create a competitive advantage. Their top priority will be to provide an exceptional level of service to both internal and external customers.
The IT Director has strong accountability for setting objectives, executing multiple, diverse and complex projects, monitoring performance, and managing IT functions in an efficient and effective manner, and in support of a 24/7 business operation.
The individual who occupies this role must excel at leading teams made up of vendors, contractors, as well as fellow IT department professionals. He or she must be highly adept in leading projects that include web hosts/administrators, software developers, network and telecommunications administrators and help desk technicians.
The IT Director must have experience in enterprise technology solutions involving multiple systems that require a high degree of integration and interaction. This position requires a strong background in applications development, software conversions, systems programming and business systems analysis.
Oversees WAN administration and maintenance and assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting company network infrastructure.
Implements network security as established by CFO.
Directs and oversees changes and upgrades to telephone system.
Oversees the distribution, administration and maintenance of laptops, blackberries and desktop workstations and provides user support as necessary.
Establishes priorities daily tasks and projects based on business needs and established service levels to ensure that all deadlines are met.
Delegates or addresses system or user issues to resolve problems as expediently as possible.
Monitors systems, performs updates and schedules and performs regular maintenance for all systems.
Consults with management and IT team to determine system and equipment requirements and brings forth issues that may affect system capacity or the need to acquire new equipment.
Ensures company software, hardware, e-mail and internet policies are enforced.
Supports application and software implementation and maintenance.
Provides troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
Works with IT and Operations teams to implement and maintain all internal systems.
Works with Marketing team and consultants to optimize booking engine and to execute website phasing and enhancements.
Oversees and supports all help desk activities and responds to escalated help desk issues.
Interacts with company users on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
Ensures that company assets related to IT are maintained responsibly.
Facilitates IT team meetings effectively and holds regular status meetings to keep team informed of changes within the organization and general news.
Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to superiors.
Initiates and implements improvements and methods for optimization in all areas of IT responsibility.
Identifies opportunities and solutions for improvement and/or cost savings and makes constructive suggestions for change.Qualification Requirements:
Advanced degree in Computer Science/MIS or closely related field.
Previous experience as an IT Director (5 – 10 years), with hands on systems administration duties.
Previous work experience in a hotel or resort environment.
Certified in Novell administration and/or engineering.
Previous experience in telecommunications field strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Novell Network and DOS.
Requires A+ certification, Net+ preferred
Previous experience with Ghost, Microsoft Active Directory, and VmWare are a plus
Strong understanding of varied computer applications, ie., Microsoft, Office, Excel, etc.
Strong leadership skills and skills relating to general management and professionalism.
Strong budgeting/P&L management skills and previous experience as a major buyer of services.
Positive, proactive guest service and hospitality skills.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
Detail orientation and a superior level of computer knowledge and literacy.
