Job Description: Polyurethane manufacturer seeks an entry level lab technician to work in the R&D lab. The ideal candidate will already have experience working with chemicals and in a chemical plant environment, especially with polyurethane systems. The job entails precisely and accurately weighing chemicals and blending systems, and will include performing physical property testing on finished materials under the direction of the head chemist. Technician will react different chemical systems, including both hand reactions, low and high pressure spray reactions. Technician will learn to use high-pressure spray equipment for reaction and application of spray products. Job additionally requires learning the quality control process and filling in for that position when required.  
 
Candidate must: 
• Accurately weigh and blend chemicals 
• Precisely and accurately test finished product physical properties 
• Have a basic knowledge of chemistry 
• Use proper safety equipment while spraying chemicals 
• Be willing to work in a lab and chemical plant environment 
• Learn the quality control job function and fill in as needed 
• Learn to safely spray foam in a consistent and high quality manner 
• Be able to consistently lift 100 lbs  
• Be able to quickly learn to operate testing equipment 
• Be resourceful and a problem-solver 
• Be a high performer, self-motivated and possess a high level of energy 
• Have a high level of interpersonal skills 
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Possess a strong work ethic and collaboration skills

• Compensation: $11-18/hr, depending on experience
