Newtek Technology Services is seeking a talented PHP Developer to join our team.
In this role (Programmer Analyst I), you will work on both new and existing web applications, and you’ll be involved in the entire application life cycle from planning to retirement. You’ll enjoy the benefits of being part of great team that’s highly supportive, yet you’ll generally spin code independently.

NOTE: This is a fulltime role in Phoenix, AZ. Candidates interested in this role will have to relocate to Phoenix, AZ at their own expenses

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Desire to learn new things and explore new methodologies, and a willingness to embrace change

· Unfaltering meticulousness and the ability to produce high-quality work without constant supervision

· 2-3 years experience developing with MySQL and PHP under Apache on a Unix/Linux-type platform

· Comfortable enough with a Unix/Linux-type command line to perform basic, day-to-day activities

· Solid understanding of relational database design and the MySQL SQL dialect

· Ability to hand-code standards-compliant HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

· Experience following a formal SDLC with multiple versions of a product over a long period of time

· Familiarity with a variety of Unix tools, such as rsync and ssh

· Experience with Mac OS X

· Experience using an IDE to do development

· Exposure to a variety of interpreted and compiled languages

· Experience using a version-control system, preferably Subversion
