POSITION SUMMARY
The President, Consumer Products Division, is responsible for leading the strategic and tactical planning and the operations management of the organization’s consumer products and the conceptualization, design and implementation of novel products.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility for end-to-end management of consumer products development, including generation of new product concepts and corresponding commercialization plans.
Strategic and tactical planning and management of human and capital resources.
Diagnose and resolve problems, prepare schedules, and set deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
Develop short-term and long-term action plans.
Project orchestration and product development leadership.
Strategic oversight of marketing, brand management, business development and commercialization.
Development of clear results and deliverables and formulation of metrics.
Executive leadership of operational sites and P&L associated with all core functions.
Interaction with other divisions to accomplish R&D and production plans and objectives.
Continuous process development driven to quality improvement and higher capability.
Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters using managerial expertise in supervision, planning and fiscal issues.
Selects, develops and evaluates staff to ensure the efficient operation of the Consumer Products division.
Assists in defining value of new product opportunities as well as constantly assessing value of in-house technologies throughout the discovery and development processes.
Prepares and presents regular reports on progress of product development and commercialization projects.Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in consumer products brand management.
5+ years of experience in Consumer Goods or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Advanced Degree a plus.
Demonstrated success innovating and developing and/or utilizing new or emerging technologies.
Demonstrated success in managing change and evolving businesses, creating successful cultures, defining and meeting objectives, building value for clients and providing senior management with visibility and predictability.
Proven track record of success in progressively responsible staff management roles, as well as staff development in an industrial setting.
Formal process/quality improvement training (Six Sigma, LEAN, etc.) preferred.
Strong program or project management experience, with a documented history of delivering projects on time and within budget.DESIRED KEY COMPETENCIES
