Human Resources Assistant I
Provides support in functional areas of a human resources department, which may include recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development and training. May require an associate’s degree or its equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Must have-Knowledge of Benefits administration
The following skills are required:
• Basic computer skills (Must be able to navigate, be internet savvy)
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills (Must be able to work with outside vendors)
• Proficient Human Resource knowledge (COBRA, EEOC, Benefits Administration)
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills (Must be able to write basic formulas and create reports)
• Exceptional efficiency skills (Must be able to act quickly, work quickly, stay on task, and multitask)
• Exceptional organizational skills (Must be able to manage multiple projects at once, organize hard copy and
electronic copy file rooms, and standardize processes for maximum efficiency.)
• Excellent Work Ethic (Must be internally motivated to work hard, learn more, and help where needed.)
Duties will include:
• Work with a 1-3 person office team and 5-10 managers.
• Manage HR activities to achieve maximum expense control and productivity.
• Document HR office policies and procedures.
• Analyze HR office procedures, recommend and implement change.
• Create and Prepare HR trend reports.
• Create tracking and reporting for needed job functions without tracking & reporting.
• Assist with recruiting and termination processes.
• Administer employee benefit programs.
• Manage federal and state regulations.
