    Job Description:

    Position Summary:
    Under direct supervision of the Budget & Analysis Supervisor, develops and performs financial, operational, marketing, budgetary and technical analysis projects. Uses the cost benefit approach to analyze all aspects of interdepartmental operations to maximize growth and return. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    Develops revenue forecasts and expenditure projections in conjunction with the budget.
    Conducts financial modeling for workforce analysis.
    Creates reports on database activity to determine return on investment on a variety of projects and programs.
    Creates reports and database queries needed to answer key questions about gaming statistics, operational and financial performance.
    Maintains a data warehouse of key performance indicators and relational databases.
    Investigates unusual transactions and budget variances.  Create automated reports while identifying errors and possible anomalies.
    Manages day to day analytic tasks and works with other departments to enhance or develop analytical methods and practices.
    Participates in the development and implementation of strategic planning and assists in improving the overall quality of business decision making.
    Analyzes direct mail and entertainment programs to determine profitability.
    Prepares a variety of special project reports based on requests from management.
    Prepares long-term financial forecast and analysis.
    Provides advice and assistance concerning budget preparation, procedures and methods.
    Analyzes operational revenues and expenditures.
    Prepares analysis of financial statements, scorecards and key performance indicators.
    Analyzes promotions to ensure effectiveness and revenue impact.
    Develops analysis and interpretation of accounting, marketing and operational information in order to evaluate operating results; in terms of profitability, performance against budget, performance against competitors and industry standards.
    Provides recommendations and different scenarios based on findings.
    Holds regular meetings with personnel to review analysis.
    Serves as a resource and provides training within the accounting department and to other departments in operational analysis.
    Works independently on special projects as assigned.
    Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
    Performs other duties as required.

     

    Requirements
    GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field plus four to six years of analysis experience in a casino environment. Master’s degree in related field preferred. Advanced excel ability. Gaming experience preferred. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.

    Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
    Knowledge of the standards, policies, practices, and procedures of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards.
    Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
    Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in English.
    Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
    Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
    Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical reference.

    Ability to interpret applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
    Ability to meet time lines.
    Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including working in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, presentation software (such as PowerPoint), and PC-based computerized accounting software.
    Skill in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational and financial reports.
    Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
    Skill in statistical compilation and analysis.
