As the Senior Software Test Engineer you will provide expertise in the planning, constructing and execution of software testing. You will be responsible for end-to-end testing, including system integration, usability, performance and security testing. You will interact with project managers, software developers, and other technical and functional support staff to help determine the appropriateness of system requirements and identify and define effective test cases.
The Senior Software Test Engineer will provide technical expertise of testing principles, processes and methods and will be responsible for ensuring that the testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology are applied as specified in the testing approach, and that all testing results are easily accessible and understandable. You will ensure that test defects are tracked to closure and that defect tracking is kept up-to-date with the current status. Also included in the defect coordination function is the creation and distribution of test status metrics as required by the project. You may interact with the end customer.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 5 years testing experience, or
• 8+ years testing experienceAdditional Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with clinical data systems or in a healthcare setting
• Experience working within a regulated environment
• Strong understanding of varying software development life cycle methodologies
• Strong understanding of varying testing methodologies
• Strong understanding of test data management
• Highly driven, positive attitude, team player and self-motivated
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to generate\execute SQL queries
• Experience performing peer review
• Experience with operations management
