    The Senior Web Application Engineer. will collaborate with the CTO, CEO, and other senior company officers as the lead developer for the company’s product. The Senior Web Application Engineer role is to ensure the successful execution of the architecture design, development, and deployment of a new technology representing a framework for digital content and sharing. This requires collaborating on the specifications described in the company’s patents, product descriptions, and feature sets to facilitate the implementation of the infrastructure, middleware, web applications, web interface, and mobile applications that comprise the company’s publication service product (Stremor).

    Ideal candidates will be experienced in multiple OSS platforms and have worked on product development from concept through to launch. Minimum four years of experience as a senior software engineer/architect with a minimum of six years total experience building OSS web applications from scratch.

    This position is on-site in our Phoenix, AZ offices. Modest relocation expenses are offered to highly-qualified individuals.

    Responsibilities: Strategy & Planning

    • Collaborate with the company’s CTO on the best methodology to develop and deploy the company’s publication service product.
    • Collaborate with the company’s Creative Director to design and deploy systems that properly address the needs of an innovative user experience.

    Responsibilities: Implementation & Deployment

    • Assist the CTO and company inventors in define the company’s software development methodology for rapid deployment of the core publication service product and supporting infrastructure.
    • Take ownership of the software development process, meeting short-term objectives and pushing progress as defined by the selected software development methodology.
    • Manage deployment which will include working with other infrastructure employees and application hosting providers for a cloud-based solution.

    Position Requirements: Formal Education & Certification

    • University Masters degree in the field of computer science or have equivalent professional experience and certifications.

    Position Requirements: Knowledge & Experience

    • Demonstrated ability to envision next-generation technologies and services that meet user needs, solve business problems, and deploy a superior publication service product.
    • Experience with Python and familiarity with the natural language toolkit.
    • Hands-on experience coding in more than one currently popular Linux/Unix-based web application framework with an emphasis on CMS and high-demand infrastructures that support millions of pieces of content delivered to millions of users.
    • Familiar with streaming content and the technologies necessary to convert user-uploaded video and audio into a standard format for streaming in the publication service product.
    • Superior skill with CSS, XHTML, one or more Javascript frameworks, and AJAX, or, enough experience to evaluate and supervise those with superior skills.
    • Knowledge of online advertising architectures for web and mobile content services, and ideally, direct knowledge so as to build a new architecture to company specifications.
    • Knowledge of performance metrics and audience measurement architectures for web and mobile content services.
    • Experience with cloud-based deployment frameworks and high-demand infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management.
    • Ability to perform all job requirements within a fast-moving and nimble organization where serendipitous brain-storming may contribute to sudden or even significant alterations to the core deliverables of the publication service product.
    • Ability to convert abstract concepts into deployable technologies.

    Compensation and Incentives

    • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and other attributes that contribute to the potential success of the company.
    • Position is full-time on payroll.
    • Incentives in the form of cash bonuses are offered for the completion of the publication service product on time to agreed specifications.
