Enterprise server environment, HP HW, Cisco, EMC storage. Looking for junior to mid-level technician, THIS IS 3rd SHIFT 10p-9a Wed-Sat. 3-5 years exp desired.
This Systems Support role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of large, highly utilized servers
to maximize reliability and recoverability. Installs, configures, and maintains the server environment. Analyzes and resolves
problems associated with server hardware and applications software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports server problems. Sets
up user accounts on company’s servers and runs necessary system backups.The Specialist Level has the ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems using professional concepts and company
policies and procedures in imaginative and practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data
requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine
appropriate action. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments or
projects.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews all applicable information in the server environment relative to problem and resolution. Investigates
operational problems and accelerates solutions.
• Performs systems administration tasks that are both planned and emergency.
• Analyzes, recognizes and troubleshoots problems with server hardware and applications software. Follows established
procedures to detect, diagnose, and report all application related problems with servers.
• Installs new software releases, systems upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
• Performs maintenance on user accounts. Adds, removes and modifies user accounts as necessary.
• Assesses and upgrades large servers.
• Plans and performs backup, recovery, and security procedures.
• Facilitates the change management resolution process both internally and with customers.
• Evaluates new server technology tools to remain current with industry trends and practices and makes recommendations
for their application within the enterprise system.
• Establishes and documents standards and procedures for management review and detecting, diagnosing and reporting all
application related server problems.
