Software Developer (Chandler, AZ)

  • Liberty Distribution Company, LLC is headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, and is a leading national distributor of candy, snacks and other impulse items to various retailers who traditionally do not offer food products. We are currently seeking a qualified Software Developer/Programmer to develop and maintain customized software in support of our nationwide distribution business.
     

     
    This position is for a multi-talented developer / programmer with proficiency in interpreted languages. The applications utilized consist of web applications, data translation and transmission, and a wide range of developer-enhanced business processes. One of the primary duties of this position will be the upgrade, enhancement, and maintenance of Python and Ruby code bases that interact with a MySQL backend. Another primary duty will be addressing support tickets which are focused both on enhancements to our various applications as well as maintaining them appropriately. We work in an agile environment, so effective documentation of application development work will be required.
     

     
    The Software Developer is expected to deliver a high level of internal customer service. We strive to use open source technology to solve real world problems.     Requires:
     
    ? Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline and a minimum of four years of experience in Information Technology; or equivalent education/experience
     
    ? Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
     
    ? Experience managing diverse technical resources preferably in a distribution environment
     
    ? Extensive experience in LAMP/Ruby development (Python, PHP, and Ruby on Rails)
     
    ? Experience with Mongrel and Capistrano
     
    ? Experience with MySQL 4.x and 5.x
     
    ? Experience with XML-RPC
     
    ? Experience developing with open source-type libraries in a Linux environment, Debian a plus
     
    ? Ability to travel occasionally, as the Company maintains operations and customers throughout the United States
     

     
    Following experience not required, but desired:
     
    ? Experience working with or managing EDI (GIS, AS2, FTP)
     
    ? Experience with Agile or Semi-Agile development
     
    ? Experience with Backup utilities, Rsync, Disaster Recovery
