Sr. Human Resources Generalist (22nd St & Highland)

    Position Summary

    Reports to the Sr. Director of Human resources; under general supervision, provides Human Resources support and assistance covering various human resource functions, including: benefits, recruiting, training and development, employee relations, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and compliance with all federal and state employment laws.

    Essential Functions

    • Benefits administration of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k) plan, etc.) and leave programs such as Paid Time Off and FMLA.
    • Administration of enrollments, working with 3rd party COBRA administrator, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, etc. Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations and timeliness and accuracy of required filings.
    • Design and distribute materials for benefit orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions.
    • Gather employee data and oversee the auditing of monthly insurance billings and submittal to A/P for processing.
    • Process changes pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, and HIPAA, as they relate to group benefit issues.
    • Develops and implements recruitment strategies encompassing full-cycle recruitment of candidates such as sourcing, screening, interviewing, background checks, conducting professional references and assisting managers in the selection and onboarding process.
    • Maintain Applicant Tracking Information, Careers page and other recruitment resources as applicable.
    • Attend recruiting events as needed, as well as being responsible for tracking and reporting on predetermined metrics in order to provide management on applicant flow, sourcing activity, costs and other staffing initiatives.
    • Develops and facilitates the onboarding process including new hire paperwork, IT set up, etc.
    • Advises employees and managers regarding company human resources policies and procedures. Handles personnel/employment issues, working closely with and counseling managers on how to respond to and resolve situations.
    • Work with managers and supervisors to develop and maintain current job descriptions.
    • Assists in the development and presentation of management and employee training in human resources and general management issues.
    • May contribute to the development or recommendation for new and/or enhanced human resources policies and procedures.
    • Maintains personnel and benefit files in accordance with retention practices and employment regulations.
    • Provide top-notch customer service support to internal and external customers and must maintain/protect confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Performs other duties as required

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or closely related area. PHR certification preferred.
    • 5 to 7 experience as a human resources generalist, preferably supporting multistate operations in the software industry.
    • Possess and applies a broad knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management.
    • In-depth benefits administration experience particularly with 401k plan compliance testing and Form 5500 filing. Preferred experience integrating and transitioning employee benefits pertaining to mergers and acquisitions.
    • Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems; experience with Paycheck a plus.
    • Self-starter who is resourceful and proactive.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; including the ability to work with and through others to get things done.
    • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact and maintain both internal and external relationships in a confidential and appropriate manner.
    • Highly organized, detailed, and customer oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
    • Skilled in comprehending and analyzing organization and procedural problems and in making sound recommendations and conclusions.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
