Unix Systems Administrator (Phoenix, AZ)

We are currently seeking an experienced Unix Systems Administrator with experience working within an eCommerce environment with working knowledge of VMWare and to provide the functions to support and maintain the Linux systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Systems Administration – Daily administration and support of the UNIX-based servers, including hardware and/or software installation/upgrade, shell scripting, system performance monitoring, system sizing, system integration, and hardware diagnostics within a physical and virtual environment.
•Applications Development Support – Work closely with the applications Development teams, guiding developers in best practices related to using the underlying UNIX infrastructure and assisting them in identifying and resolving performance problems.
•Capacity Planning – Ongoing reporting and analysis of systems and applications capacity planning and remediation. Improve the overall performance of systems by tuning systems parameters to achieve better performance.
•Documentation – Responsible for maintaining system documentation including build documentation, systems/network diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, etc…REQUIREMENTS:
•Minimum of five years of UNIX administration/engineering experience, using Linux (Redhat, CentOS). Experience with Solaris (8, 9 and 10) and AIX 5.3 a plus. Good knowledge of UNIX system internals.
•Infrastructure and automation tools such as OpsWare.
•Proven experience in scripting skills in Shell and/or Perl.
•Working experience with Apache web server
•Experience configuring and support network load balancing devices such as F5 Big IP
•Operational experience with HP hardware.
•Working experience with Veritas Cluster Server
•Must have volume management software experience (Veritas VxVM and VxFS, ODS)
•Extensive knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP, RPC, NIS and NFS.
•NFS troubleshooting experience required.
•Web server (Apache), Samba, Mail and DNS.
•Knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies.
•Experience in the retail industry and e-Commerce preferred.
•Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
•Good understanding of KickStart.
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•Should have good documentation skills and able to mentor junior System administrators.
