Web design firm now hiring a smart, motivated and creative Web Designer/Front-end Developer. This is a full-time, in-house position. We’re not interested in agencies, outsourcing or freelancers.

What You’ll Be Doing
 
You will design websites and convert them into accessible, clean, cross-browser compatible, semantic and valid XHTML and CSS. Fast. You’ll add a few jQuery animations and effects for some pizazz.
 

 
The Technical
 
- Fluent in XHTML and CSS (the ability to hand-code is a must).
 
- Understanding of web standards and accessibility.
 
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and frameworks (jQuery).
 
- Adobe CS+ experience required (especially Photoshop and Illustrator).
 

 
The Mental
 
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
 
- Self-motivated.
 
- Willingness/eagerness to learn new skills.
 
- Staying cool under pressure (plenty of tight deadlines here).
 
- Doesn’t take constructive criticism or design suggestions personal.

To apply submit your portfolio and a brief description of why you feel fit for this position with your requested hourly rate to start if hired. Our interview process is a one-day, paid assessment of your abilities (you will have up to 8 hours to finish). You will work almost entirely on your own and will be given very little instruction. Your task is to design and develop a simple, informational corporate website. Bear in mind, this is just a test, not the end of the world.
